Default Lighthouse over processed?

This was my first attempt at some real post processing in photoshop elements.
Id like to know if you think i did a little to much to this picture to make it look better. To me it seems fake but its a big improvement from the original.
Any other comments would be great as well

It is, indeed, a big improvement, and overall, I think it is really good. The one thing I might work on, though, is that around the trees and a little bit around the lighthouse in the water, there is sort of a halo-ish effect that is a bit distracting. With that gone, this would probably be perfect.

looks as if you used the dodging too much around the greenery. Next time try changing it from 50% to just 5%.

Big difference! Wow! Awesome job taking a blah photo and turning it into something that is worth looking at!
Agree with what others said.. and I'd like to add that the sky-water transition is a little artificial looking..I think that it's that bright white that implies that there is a sunset/ sunrise going on to the right of the frame ahead of the camera.. but then the way the light falls on the lighthose does not support it.. see what I mean? I'd probably tone down that white shine IF the goal was to make it look very realistic. But it definitely looks good anyways!

The edit shows "halos" , I think you were on the right track but you went a bit overboard with the contrast and color.

Adjust color, contrast, brightness and straightened the shot.

Hello!

I am quite a beginner in photography and I know little about PP but I wanted to tell you that the processed image is a great improvement on the first one.

I think the original shot is more a source of inspiration from which you created the second image. The pic you obtained has an almost pictorial aspect that I appreciate a lot and that I have seen used by many new ascending "art" photographers (here in Europe).

To decide whether you overprocessed it you have to decide first what you want from the picture.Since you are still learning I suppose that for the moment you are more interested in getting a more realistic result. However I suggest you retry the "paint" effect when you are more skilled to see where it can bring you.

Yea. A bit over done IMO. The colors washed out into some blend of random hues. That's when you know you have to scale it back a bit. Keep on messing with it! It's the only way to learn. Good luck.
