Had a play around with highlighting specific colours. It was a first for me and I'm sure that I went the long way around it, but my question is simple... does it work? I've had a few comments this far from friends, mostly mixed though. Two examples are below. The first is a drummer from Melbourne's Returned Services Day march, the second is a lorikeet I snapped outside the kitchen window.
I chose red for the drummer as it was the more dominant of colours within the picture and drew the eye to the actual drummer rather than the image as a whole. The lorikeet was highlighted as the remainder of the image was quite green, it had just rained so the leaves came up "really" green! ![]() Camera: Canon EOS 350D Digital Exposure: 0.005 sec (1/200) Aperture: f/3.2 Focal Length: 70 mm ISO Speed: 200 Exposure Bias: 0 EV Flash: Off, Did not fire

I think the lorikeet might work if cropped just a little differently. The contrast is good, and the subject is obvious.
The first shot doesn't work for me. I couldn't figure out what it was at first, because the face just blends in without color. The red dominates the entire image and loses the subject. |

Maybe if you left some green in the first one it could compliment the red? I dont know. The second one is sex though. Cropping could be cool.
