Default Pseudo-HDR

Hello, everyone,

Here is my second HDR attempt, done starting from a single raw shot.

The truth is that this image was severely underexposed. Also, the dynamic range was very large - I had the sun in the image, as well as shadows. I didn't have the time to play with the exposure - I tried to adjust it manually, but didn't succeed. I took the shot anyway, hoping for the best (everything happened too fast, both balloons were moving).

I tried to adjust this in Lightroom, but with very little success - see here: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3088/...a05377cc_m.jpg

So, yesterday I decided to give it a try in Photomatix, with the result presented here.
The question is, can this shot be improved? Comments and critique are welcome.

Thanks,

Laurentiu

This is a beautiful shot that has a lot of potential. I think the biggest problem is the large blown out area behind the balloon. I had a similar problem (but on a much smaller area) on one of my HDRs. If I remember correctly, I had some success selecting the bright section and adjusting the brightness on just that section. Sometimes this doesn't look good, but it might help. I would also like to see the balloon a tad brighter.

IMO excellent shot!!!, just two points, in the horizon and the bottom left high way, it looks with a little blur probably because of the light? not sure

Overall, good job

Well, there was a lot of haze in the atmosphere that day (it had rained earlier, then the sun came up again). I think that might have caused the blur you see.
