Default Rose

This was the first photo I took with my new 75-300mm lens.
I messed around with it in photoshop and when I added a gradient from red inside to green outside I thought it was really finished. I kinda like it but I need your feedback to further improve my skills. I also added a little bit of a HDR-effect to it, although it wasn't shot in raw or anything.

Do you have any particular feedback you are looking for?

I like the post processing you have done with the reds here. I do however find the flower in the background to be distracting, not so much because it's there but because it blends in with the foreground flower. If you choose a slightly different angle to help separate the two flowers I think it wouldn't look so busy around the subject.
