Default The Castle HDR

What do you think about it? In what areas do you feel it could improve?

Specifically: Do you feel that it is under done and doesn't feel HDR-ish.

This is my second one, any criticisms help.

Exif:
Shutter: 1000, 2000, 4000 (how my camer AE brackets)
Iso 100
Fstop: 3.8
Anything else you would like, let me know.

I have also heard the white balance is way off. Anyone agree/disagree?

HDR should be very subtle or it becomes overdramatized and looks like a painting. I have seen those that overdo it with success depending on their style. However, I believe the best HDR is subtle processing that really enhances a normal photograph to bring more clarity and detail to your shot.

Looking at the processingw ork in particular here I would say it is way underprocessed. I don't see a hint of HDR (Which isnt always bad). However, your clouds do not look tone mapped at all. Are you tone mapping these or are you just using PS? I do think your white balance is way off as well and your color saturation seems a bit heavy on your yellows and greens.

It is QTPFSGUI and gimp, tone mapped with Drago and Fattal and overlaid, and coloradjusted in gimp.

My Color calibration was off, but it is fixed now.

Honestly I would take it from a different perspective...rocks in shadow benefit well from HDR treatment..and really in this case, if you had not told us I probably would not have guessed HDR was used..
