Fake tilt shift photo.
What do you think of the effect? How about the colors?

There is very little color in the image to really comment on. I don't feel like the blur in the image improves the composition very much.

i think this is an interesting effect, kinda like it! i like the color (or "lack" of color), gives it that rainy day/dreary look. i find it refreshing to see something so different, nicely done

Very obvious fake, I'm sorry the pole should be in focus since it falls within the fake depth of field. Currently the pole blurs out where it should not be blurred (the top of the frame. Try using a mask on the pole. The gradation I think needs to be more gradual for the blur as well. I would certainly retry this because you have the right height over the subject to get that miniature look. The rain, contrast and composition in the image are good, just need to be more aware of what should be blurred and what should not be blurred for your next attempt. I think it could make for a pretty interesting miniature effect.

Isn't tilt shift a bit different kind of beast than just the normal shallow depth of field? >.>
Like in this photo which can be found on this page.

Thank you for comments peeps.

If this was taken with a tilt-shift lens, that's exactly the blur you would get. Great job. I like the composition and the subject-matter.
