The red sunsets on the Mediterranean sea are always memorable. The day before Yesterday we went to the Rishon LeZion beach with friends and enjoyed one of those memorable moments. While I was taking pictures it was pointed out: ..."Buh, another sunset picture... You must do something original with it or else"... So I tried.
The picture shows the actual colors as they were captured by the camera. No post processing on the tones. I used GIMP to get the time frame illusion. I'd be glad to get your critique, comments and suggestions regarding the idea, atmosphere, composition, technique, and etc. Thanks in advance! ![]() EXIF data: Camera: Canon PowerShot SX100 IS Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/400) Aperture: f/4.0 Focal Length: 38.9 mm ISO Speed: 80 Exposure Bias: 0 EV

Sorry for being unclear. Allow me to refrace.
Do you think the idea is original or have you seen similar things out there and is actually some sort of unintended recycling of well known items? Do you like the general composition? Does it enhances the natural beauty and dramatism of the sunset? Do you get the feeling of "TGIF" and the atmosphere of: I can peacefully enjoy the wonders of Nature...? How is the finishing quality in terms of technique, blending, etc? What would you do differently? and most importantly If you think it could be improved, what would you do?

Now that the question is somehow better layed out, would it be possible to get some answers?
Perhaps the success of the DPS, judging by the huge amount of members and new members joining every day, may become its own doom. I feel many of the pictures get buried under piles of picture and posts. That is not bad in itself but a different system should be put in place to refresh their appearence (random resurface of pictures with less than say 2 comments) and get more exposure. I think that due to psycological factors we learn mostly from the comments on our own pictures.
