Default HDR Sunset

Hello there,

I am new here, so hello to you all.

Here's a picture I took off my balcony looking over to the next building capturing the top floor windows and the nice color in the sky.

It took three different exposures keeping the aperture the same to keep the depth of field wide.

The photos were merged using Photomatrix, but I wasn't happy with how the building looked, so I copied over the building from the highest exposure.

I hope you like it.

Regards,

Sune

Welcome to DPS.

The photo doesn't look like hdr as the building is very very dark silhouette. Which can be a good thing but since you said it's hdr I think you didn't accomplish that very well.
Did you use bracketing in your camera or set the exposures by yourself?

The gradient in the sky looks nice though.

I think you needed more exposures to bring out the detail in the building(s). I would not bother taking one stop slower, I'd start by taking another exposure two stops.

nice image. is there something interesting inside the windows that you could show better trying to "telling a story"?

In terms of HDR, the building could be brighter but the windows and sky look perfect for this technique.
