Default Abandoned Oregon Homestead

Just wanted your general thoughts/criticism about this HDR photo of an abandoned homestead in North-Central Oregon.

Here's a bigger size if you'd like to see more detail.

Processed in Qtpfsgui and further edited in GIMP. EXIF data not available.

Lovely shot!

You should've pushed the HDR a bit more, in my opinion... the clouds are asking for some more drama It would intensify the sense of gloominess and abandonment.

I agree with Gulpa. Love the shot but clouds could use little more punch. Fiddling with curves or levels and a mask should take care of that easily enough.

I really, really like this shot. A lot. I think the other two posters are right about darkening the clouds, but if you do that be really, really careful. Right now, to me anyway, it's got a lighter mood to it. If you want to make it desolate then by all means darken the picture and enhance the contrast in the clouds. But if you want it to remain light, I would maybe add a touch of blue to the sky, but that's about all.

Very cool picture.

Looks great, Ken! Did you boost the contrast a little?
