Default Canvas filter

In an attempt to tone down the hard light this photo was shot in, I added a canvas filter. Do you think this works well with this photo, or should i stick with the original. I'll post the original later if you want to see it. Please feel free to comment on any other aspects of the photo that may need adjustments.

Moved to processed critique.

I don't really think the filter adds anything to the image, nor does it make the light better. Shooting backlit shadows like that is hard, you just have to let the background go most of the time.

By adding a canvas filter it appears that this is a photo of a painting rather than a photo taken of a real bird.

Looking at the photo, it would seem that the subject is the bird and it's reflection in the water. That being the case, I would crop out a lot of the foliage on the top of the image. It does not really add to the subject, it makes me wonder why it is included. The color of the water looks very green. Is that the actual color it was or was the white balance off?

That is an interesting bird. Is it some kind of a heron?

The subject is the blur heron, but i have many close-ups of them. I like the wider angle of the photo in this one/ the reason for leaving the foliage. The green color is from the reflections in the water/not the white ballance. The filter brings out the green's a little stronger i think.

I was really tring to save the photo. Hard light, and border line over cropping. I guess i'll play around with it some more and see what i can do. I really like the photo .

I like the photo much better as a photo. The canvas would be fine if thr image looked more like a painting

I love the photo without the filter on it. But that's just my amateur opinion... Nice capture!
