Cool Moody self-portrait

I shot this a while back and did a whole lot of post-processing on it to edit bits out and add highlights to hair and the like.

I'm not sure about the lighting though... do you think it's too harsh?
Any other comments?

Nice image I really like it, it certainly has a mood to it. I like the softness of the image in contrast with the beard I think it works nicely here. I think the lighting looks good but I think you could have used a reflector or card to help bounce some light back into the shadows. Move the light source back a little to reduce it's intensity and make it even more hash but with the reflector it will help bring details into the shadows so the overall quality of light remains close to where it is presently but this should help with the slightly blown out highlights.

It's just a personal preference and if you find the light to be acceptable to you here you did a good job. I really like the background and muted colors in the image very nice. I think a rim light for the hair would work really well with an image like this.

The light is too harsh and slightly too far back. I'd move it a little toward the camera. Also, I'd crop out your chest. Just go with head and the tops of your shoulders.
