Do you think this looks overdone? Also did I leave enough room on the right between the tree & edge? Any other suggestions welcome.

I don't think it looks overdone at all. The light on the grass is fantastic.

The overall scene just doesn't feel right though. I think I would like to see brightness on the cliffs or in the ravine to draw the eye past the trees and into the photo, maybe something to accentuate the fog above the river.

I don't think the processing is overdone but I find the composition lacking. The tree at the right is somewhat distracting and is blocking much of the interesting river and cloud cover. I think if you would have moved forward to get the tree out of the frame and point the camera down toward the river would result in an image that is more interesting. Right now the impression the image leaves me with is there was a great photo opportunity here but just a slight change in position could have made a really striking shot.

Where exactly is this place?

Wow...no critique...just wanted to say that this is an amazingly beautiful photo. seemingly perfect in every way. GREAT job. The mist and the sunlight really make this an amazing shot!

Thanks Fletch. I will try to lighten theses areas up & see what I get.

Thanks Murtasma. This is the only part of the river you can see from here. Here is a shot from a different day without the tree on the right.http://www.flickr.com/photos/2686162...7613347511890/ I am standing on the edge of a drop off. I could have moved to the left & left the tree out though. I took a number of shots from here some with out the tree on the right. This is one of my favorite places to go. It is a NYS Park (Letchworth State Park),about 1hr south of Rochester NY (home of Eastman Kodak) Appreciate the feed back.

Epic shot - very nice. Definitely not overdone in the HDR department

As an experiment you might try cropping the 2nd tree all the way to the right out (cutting out some grass if you want the aspect ratio maintained). To me the trees on the right present somewhat of a wall/obstruction in an otherwise open image, whereas when there's only one it's more of a foreground object than a complete obstruction. You can also look at this in terms of framing: frame the valley with one tree on each side to have balance across the frame.

That's just my $0.02 - great shot though. I think the exposure levels and processing are perfect.

Thanks for the feedback t.scudiero. I will definitely consider your suggestions.

Beautiful colors, but I keep wanting to see what's over the edge and look into that marvelous canyon a little more! Looks like you were able to capture some nice patches of fog/mist in there as well.
