Default Tiny car

Hi, I took this photo on the street one night, and I liked it as it was but I wanted to emphasise the car so I took two layers of the same picture in photoshop, adjusted the levels in one to make the car colours nice and shiny, while with the other I made it a little darker and more 'grainy', then I masked them together.
I want to know if there would be any way to achieve this same effect, but better?
Thankyou in advance
Josh

Is that any better? I added a high pass filter:

Copy the background layer and turn off the copy. To the original layer, add Filter, Other, High Pass... Change the Radius to 75.0 and click [OK]. Go back to the copied layer and change the blending mode to Overlay and there you are.

I'd prefer to not have grainy texture, in fact it would be cool if the effect could be achieved while at the same time looking as though it hadn't been processed...
I don't know if that's possible!

Joshua,

could you try blending the two together? I like the brightness and color of the second one but it is a little too much in my humble opinion.

The high pass filter works until you notice the more modern car behind it. my $.02
