Default PP'ing flowers

I just wondered what peoples thoughts are on this type of photo. It is relatively easy to do and I really like the feel on how it gives so much more of a 3D effect. Yet I see hardly any of it being done. Is it something that is a 'phase' that everybody does just to get over it? It certainly isnt a photo anymore is it.

It was done in PSE7 you go into Artistic effect and use paint daubs and just adjust how it looks on screen. Just learn the border bit myself, its Image, Resize, Canvas Size, then put in your dimensions and background colour.

Its interesting, because it appears that all people 'new' to PP do this effect but it is something not viewed as photography?

I would really love some feedback.

Its still a photo, I happen to like it, a lot. I like the texture and the 3-d effect
I might be inclined to even brighten the colors up just a tad. Not too much or it'll ruin it and maybe just the red as that part seems a little blah to me

Seems like you see it a lot when people are trying to make an ok image great. Its a nice fx when you begin with a great image like yours. I like it but agree with above posts and color and brightness.

I think you chose a perfect subject for that PS filter. Colors can be tweaked to appeal to a personal preference, but the bottom line is this looks great. Does it hold up well at a larger size?

It is a nice shot. I would do a curves adjustment on the original before adding the black border. I think that would improve it.
