Default Playing again....

(I get so nervous posting...lol!)
Another shot I have been playing with trying to improve my photoshop skills...was tryng to get an effect of what a child imagines when they play dress up, but not neccessarily bright and colourful or over the top.
So..do you think I have acheived this feel? Are there any blatent imperfections I have missed? And lastly my husband commented on his pose saying it looked strange (I know this isn't a processed question...but while I'm here!) does it?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated, thanks

First off let me start by saying don't ever be nervous to post with images like this.
I love this shot! Its got great appeal....there is a story and the dress of the child along with the bunny on the floor is great!
Im not so sure its getting the story across as you describe it though. MAybe if he was standing and facing that background.....I think it might aslo work if he was staring off into the upper right corner of the shot too. This seems like he is bored or waiting for something to happen.
All in all its a great shot, just wanted to ask is that background an actual background or is it a texture you applied? It looks good either way!

yep,
have to agree 100% with Pinball this is a fantastic image with such emotion and composition going on!! this is a real cracker of an image.I would be very proud of an image like this and you should be really happy with it too. I love everything about it and the Bunny!! just gives it that certain something.
Well done this is something to be proud of. Thanks you for brightening my day.

I love the composition of this shot!! All of the elements have an important part of telling the story. My critique is in the processing... I like the "old photo" appeal it has, but perhaps the side of his forehead looks like it took on too much of the backgrounds hues?

Thanks so much for the replies!

xxpinbalxx - Thanks for ur response! I see what u mean, by having him gaze upwards he would appear to be more dreamy/imagining....Being his mum he doesn't really like doing what i ask lol, but i can try! The background is an image of an audience I found on google softened and desaturated and then set by blending mode to screen to make it more translucent, then I applied a texture over the whole pic, which I set the blending mode to colour burn. I'm glad it looks ok!

harrypalmer044 - Thanks alot! I really enjoy planning and playing with these shots...even if it's only for my own amusement so I'm glad u enjoyed it!

KWphotos - Thankyou for replying! Ur right his forehead does take on the background to an extent because I applied a texture and layed it over the entire image...I wasn't sure whether I should erase it from covering him or whether that would make it look strange...I might see if I can lessen the opacity of it on his face and see how it looks. Thanks for the input!
