Default To sharp for a baby??

Ok so this is more of a portrait, and if the mods must move, they must. But I am really looking for critique on the processed look, I dont want it to look over processed, and I think it may, but I do want a picture where the colors really pop. I think its her skin tone Im most unhappy with, any suggestions how to make the picture softer looking and more baby appropriat without just blurring it???
Does it look to processed overall???

thanks in advance

I think her skin looks fine (according to my moniter) but one of my "tricks" is duplicate layer - add a very slight glacian blur and erase the eyes...

Yah thats usually what I do to, but I have tried a couple times and havent liked the outcome, maybe im using to high of a px, i will try it lower and see. I just was hoping to soften it without bluring it, yah know (:
