Default Black and White sea scape

Okay, I am trying for a very heavy effect with this image. I want it almost opressive, with the look of it being almost painted.

I have gotten this far, and would like your opinion on it please.

There is no point in putting exif data as its a marriage of two images - the sky and foreground are seperate images.

Both photographs are taken with a Nikon D90 and the image has been processed in PS4

Angling I moved your thread to the processed photos critique section since the amount of post processing is high.

I love what you have done here. A few things I would like seen changed are a slightly more defined horizon. Right now the sky and ocean blend into each other. This would be find if there was some haze or fog but this should be taken into consideration. The sky is sharp so the horizon should be sharp as well. The rock on the right side of the frame could use a little more detail but not much. I really like the high contrast and long shutter for the foreground water.

This is really an impressive combination of two images. The conversion to black and white I feel really help add to the oppressiveness of the image.

Nice work thank you for sharing!

That's a really nice scenic you put together there. The B & W effect is pretty dynamic!

I am very impressed -- and oppressed! But, the brightness of the sun and its bit of reflection seems to give a little bit of hope. I like that.

Thanks for the input - and moving the thread to a better forum!

The horizion as said could do with being shaper, I see that now. Re the right rock, I am struggling to get more detail out of it, but will try!!
