Default Fishpond HDR

Fishpond HDR

Did I nail this or not? I say not bad for a single exposure pseudo-HDR.

Info:
Shutter Speed: 1/50
Aperture: f16
ISO: 100

Was this handheld? It's good but a tad soft it seems like which cold be from hand holding the camera rather then the use of a tripod. No loss of detail in the shadows or highlights so I would say it qualifies as as good HDR.

Yes this was handheld. The original photo looks a little bit dull in colors so I thought of saving it using HDR. Thanks for your time.

It's right on the cusp of where I'd tend to think it's too much, but I like it. It hasn't quite kicked over into processed looking to me, but gives me the feeling of "Storms coming", and I like pictures that give me a strong concept right when I look at them.

This was done with a single exposer?

Yes it's only a single exposure "pseudo-HDR" (at least says Photomatix). I just dragged my RAW file to Photomatix and it generated a really, for the lack of a better word, not-so-good-looking image. I tone mapped it by pushing/pulling sliders and voila, I walked away with this result. I hope you liked it, btw.

I like it a lot. I find that you can successfully tone map a single raw exposure in Photomatix with good results.

I might be inclined to do 2 things. Clone out the strange grey clouds as to me, they look out of place.
Then there is a horizontal line running thru the trees that is distracting. Try and get rid of that
