Default HDR Sunset

I'm generally not much for HDR, but since I was out in a place where I don't know when I'll be another place like it, I thought I'd have the best check of getting pictures that captures what I was seeing if I autobracketed and combined them.

_IGP5794c

The MEDIAN exposure was:
Camera: Pentax K110D
Exposure: 0.008 sec (1/125)
Aperture: f/22.0
Focal Length: 35 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Exposure Bias: -1.3 EV

Shot in jpeg in camera, autobracketed at full stops.

I've been debating if it's too much, or not enough, and whether I skewed the colors too much. I was trying to correct for some of wind blown dust in the colors, and I'm wondering if I skewed too far to the blues and purples.

Or should I just shut up and enjoy the picture?

I like the colors very much. I do think it would benefit if the front section were to be lightened up a hair

Nailed it I wouldn't change a thing, except crop a little more off the top of the frame to give a more panoramic feel to the image.

Really nice image great tones, lighting, post processing I would print and frame this baby.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I'm really working on being less harsh on myself. My little sister made me order a 16x24 print on metallic paper for her bedroom, so I went ahead and ordered two so I'd have one for my office as well.

Should be here tomorrow!

I think you did very well. If i had that picture, I would add a tad more contrast to the snow and maybe lighten it just a bit as well. But otherwise it does work.

i think you should shut up and enjoy it.....

hdr isn't my favorite technique because most folks over use it ......yours has none of that haloing i dislike nor are the colors "unnatural" to my eye....i never would have thought of a sunset being a good candidate for hdr, but apparently it is......

the only little bit that feels wrong to me is that too pink in the sky just to the left of your sun.....

i really like this image, mr guy......you did a wonderful job with the colors.....

I see your Netherland's bias! It's not snow, it's sand!

White Sands, specifically.

Hmm, that direction is the restricted government airspace, so I'm going to go ahead and say the pink dot is an alien.
