Default Acid Wings

Acid Wings

Taken at Magic Wings in Mass.

RAW processed in Lightroom, then run through the Pro Contrast and Color Stylizer filters in Color Efex Pro 3.

Curious to get some feedback/critique. The original shot was sort of abstract (no cropping, that is full frame) so I wanted to do something interesting with it.

Thanks!

I'm assuming you don't like it that way? It was shot and intentionally left that way.

Well PP-wise I guess it's fine, but I'm having a hard time making heads or tails of the image itself. I'm not really sure what I'm looking at or where I'm supposed to be looking. It seems like there are a lot of cool elements in the photo that could be focused on more tightly in other pictures that would make for great subjects. The butterflies, the flowers, the cool blue window in the back. But put together it adds up to less than the sum of the parts, in my opinion.

No, I do like it. It's just that it's kind of hard to look at the pic without getting dizzy. If I sounded rude I didn't intend it to come across that way. My apologies.

No worries. I just wasn't sure where you were headed with it.

Interesting, I can see where you are coming from. Perhaps having taken it and knowing the surrounding environs it doesn't bother me as much? I tend to anchor the central and upper left butterfly and then explore from there.

Interesting. I think I will play around with cropping it in Lightroom and isolate different sections just to explore what it would look like. What's interesting to me is that I tend to take shots that are much closer and focus on a singular element much moreso then broad shots like this. But this particular sight just caught my eye. The initial exposure was a bit dark so it got me thinking of different things to do with it.

Thank you for the feedback.
