You have an interesting interplay between light and dark. I don't find it too dark. I don't feel the need for the black area to the left and would consider cropping it, but it depends what you want it for. I like the patch of light on the right, but it is a shame you have lost the bottom corner of it, especially as there is a lot of dark along the top of the pic making it slightly imbalanced there. I don't know what colour transformations you've done but I like the effect you have achieved in this pic, it is moody and atmospheric.

I find the lighting on the door/doorway really nice. However, the bright area to the right takes away from the doorway. And too much dark/negative space on the other side also play a part in the composition.
Like. Annette suggested. I would crop this down so your doorway is the main focal point. And then, just a hair, lighten the top portion of the doorway so you havent lost all the detail

That's so true, the fact that I like the bright patch of light stopped me from realising it was unbalancing the picture and that the better crop would remove both the very dark bit and the very light bit. Then it would have more unity and be a really stunning picture. You could maybe keep the bright cropped bit if there is enough resolution and make that a pic in its own right.
