Default Over-processed?

So I'm considering ways to display my photos both online and through emails.

I can't decide if this format makes it look over-processed or if the effect makes it look more "polished". Once I get my website up and running, I was going to display my pictures with the "frame" and the effect added to it. Not all of them will be black and white, that's just what this final happens to be, I like it better like that. The photo wouldn't be printed like that, but I'd only display it like this.

Any critique would be helpful, thanks!

Here's the link for the rest of my flickr for examples.

I know it's off the subject, but I can't figure out how to put the picture in the actual post, so help on that would be appreciated, too!

This thread should be helpful:
How to Post Pictures in Assignment Threads Using Flickr

It's hard to tell what kind of feedback you want. Critique is set up for specific feedback on individual images. If you're looking for input on a whole style of post processing, you might want to head over to the post processing techniques area.

Default the picture

Headlight

I was mainly looking for critique over whether or not it's *too* processed or if it's ok to display pictures on websites, etc with the frame around it. I won't take credit for the frame, I'm just playing with ideas right now.

I think it varies according to taste whether people like processed pix or not, but to me this one looks good.

Looks good to me too. I'm not sure about the frame, but I am a person that very rarely puts any kind of frame on my pics electronically. Perhaps a black outline of maybe 1mm-2mm. I know you said it won't print like this, so maybe it doesn't matter. And in this particular example, it does look rather good.

Bottom line, if you think it looks good, then it does. Its your photography, so you can do what you like with it!
