Default HDR, Angel

Hi there,
Today I took this one and I applied a very different HDR technique.

I would like to know if the HDR adds value, if the processing is ok and finally, the cropping.

All your comments are very well received.

Thanks,

What you mean by different HDR technique? mean u use different software rather then Photomatix (I heard there is a new HDR software that produce different HDR style then Photomatix).

Well I dun really like it, maybe you should go nearer to the statue? Or make it a almost perfect symmetry shot.

Hi wheelhot,
Thanks for your feedback, lets see:
For the new technique, in the past I use and abuse of HDR and I did some over-processed photos, for this one I did something completely different, I change some settings in the camera, upgrade my Photomatix version and tweaked the settings until I got the results you saw.

The question wasn´t about the composition or the symmetry of the picture but I appreciate your feedback.

Again, the question is about the HDR effect, the post-processing. Thanks for your time.

Lonk time no see in the critique section!

To be honest I don't like the HDR treatment. A few reasons I think,

- It is a bit bright overall which doesn't relate well to the rich colours
- It has a funny hue, very yellow and they sky doesn't look natural. Is this the WB of the original shot or due to PP?
- Halos arround the trees on the left. Maybe from the HDR may also be from over sharpening it.

Hi Fletch!
Oh yeah... you know? when your life changes dramatically... you don´t really want to be criticized. Just Kidding.

I was looking for a very bright HDR...
The WB, That´s because the pollution and a very gray day over Mexico City... the air is really bad in that side of the world.
Halos... Got it... let me see what I can do (Saturday afternoon)

Thanks for your feedback!
