First off let me say that post processing in this fashion is really a matter of taste. What you like is what you do and thats all that should really matter unless its for a client.

I personally don't think its so much as overdone as it is a bit sloppy.....not trying to be mean but it seems like a quick job without alot of thought or effort put into it.
I know it may take alot of effort to learn it but i mean to say a bit more effort learning to mask off areas or dodge a little cleaner by using a smaller brush and zooming in might make a better cleaner image.
I only say this cause of the smudge look around the girls head.
If it were my shot i would redo it and try and get a little cleaner look around the hair.
Good to see some people getting their PP skills honed. Im a big fan of post processing images for the artsy side of photography.
Keep up the good work!

The background I think is what killed it for me. The white if you were looking for a vingette look should be a tad bit more smooth and fade into the subject. It should make your focal point stand out and not be the focal point, if that makes sense.
I know just what you were trying to do and trust me, you will get it perfect. With each try, everything gets smoother and falls into place just a little bit eaiser
By the way, what an adorable lady bug!
