I used Polar Coordinates to change the original panoramic shot I took from university. It was cloudy that day, so colors are a little pale, but I don't think it is useful to fight against this: it's a cloudy day, pale colors are normal, right? Or maybe not?

I'm a big fan of playing with polar coordinates, too. One thing I have found that really helps, is to select a circle encompassing the main part of your shot, and then copy and paste that onto a colored background. Black works really well with images having gray or cloudy skies. I've never tried it with a panorama shot, but I will have to give it a try. I like the way your shot turned out.
