Default Fake HDR: Is it too overworked?

Sorry, no orchid here!!!
ISO: 64
Aperture: 5.6
Shutter: 1/100
Program mode: Manual

Iīve been using Photomatic to HDR but lately I found MediaChanceīs Dynamic Photo HDR for single shot HDR. This is one of my first attemps but any critique will be welcome. But mind you, my camera is a bridge one (Z1012) so thereīs a lot of things it canīt do. By the way, itīs not an orchid but a really small wild flower that grows near the ground.

This is the original shot

I don't think it looks over done. In fact, when I saw it I was expecting to see the processed version. I just wish the background weren't so distracting. Other than that, I think your "soft touch" with HDR went well!

The PP is good. Not too overdone. Why HDR though? The dynamic range of the shot is fairly narrow so its not really necessary.

Also the main focus of the shot doesn't seem to quite be in focus as it looks very soft. That makes for quite a distracting shot IMO.

Thanks, Fletch. I decided HDR for this shot because wanted to experiment with something different to sky and also because the original image seemed dull to me. Regarding focus I have not been able to properly focus when using that macro lens adapter for the Z1012, itīs very frustrating since I canīt put my finger on it, there must be a technique for that but I canīt find it.
