Red face Too Much Grain?

This is a twig with some frost on it. I thought it looked interesting but needed to be tweaked. I like the sepia and the tone, but I am not sure if I over did it with the graininess.

I think it looks good in sepia tone but think the grain is okay in the background but I would have added it on a sepereate layer and masked the branch so it stayed sharp.....
Let the grain be almost like a background texture. I might have added a slight vignette too but I am a freak for vignetting.....In my head every image can benefit from a little vignette. LOL!

I would love to know how to add a vignette on photoshop. So far, all I've been able to do is add a vignette using the lens correction tool under the filters menu. This is on CS3. I'm surprised there's no seperate vignette tool where you can change the colour of it etc.

Vignette is a black (or white) border around your picture, but the "boudary" between the border and the middle of the picture isn't harsh, it fades away smoothly. There are many ways to do this, I suggest you start here.

I hope it helps. BTW, there are many ways to make a vignette, it is worthy of a nice google-it-up.

Thank you that is really helpful (why can't they just call it a border?).

Ok, how about this (I think I get the concept, but execution might need a little refining):

Because it's not really a border, it's a vignette

For the picture... well... it still looks like a border, but it is good to see that you gave it a try. Don't give up!
