I use CS3. In the filters menu you can go to lens correction> distort and then there are two sliders that affect the amount of vignette applied.
Vignetting is used to keep the viewers eyes in the frame......not always but that is what the most common use of it is....I use it all the time even if its a very slight vignette.
I tried for a while not to apply one to every single shot but i could only last for a few days...lol!

Way to much grain IMO. It's a really nice shot, I would have sharpened it to really make the ice crystals zing rather than adding the grain which detracts from the detail.

As for the vignette I could take it or leave it but here is a really neat way to create a natural vignette that isn't too obtrusive which black ones sometimes can be.
