Default help with panoramic shot

hello

Pagudpud

this is my first crack at photo-stitching..and i need help..hehe

im using ps elements 2.0 .. how do i eliminate the vertical lines formed when joining two images? .. thanks

aside from the obvious blunder in waves in the water, what are other things i need to put in consideration when taking shots for this?

thanks again

mike

I'd recommend using a photostitching package that can blend the seams automatically. Autostitch or Hugin are good freeware packages that can do this.

When you're shooting a pano, you want to control the exposure and white balance settings so there isn't any light/dark or color variance between shots. Putting the camera into full manual mode to lock the aperture/shutter speed settings is good, if you have it. You also want to make sure your white balance doesn't vary between shots--so, taking it out of auto mode and putting it into "sunny" is a good idea.

Yeah, but with Hugin, you can also exposure blend and do HDR panos all at once.

inkista hit the nail right on the head...
The biggest mistake with panos are people shoot in auto or program mode and it exposes for what its seeing and as you go left to right or vice versa it changes the exposure depending on the light its getting.....really makes it hard to stich a few shots together.

hey inkista, takethislife and xxpinballxx

thanks for the help.. hmm..i took all the shots with manual settings.. i guess i was just too slow in taking the shots as each shot has different exposures.. would you like to see the images that were supposed to be sewn together?

thanks! i really appreciate the help

Sure. And yeah, moving cloud cover can really play havoc when you're shooting panos.
