Default HDR from a single shot. What do you think?

I know that you need at least 3 photos with 3 different exposure to get a good HDR picture, however when you don't have a tripod with you, it is a real challenge to take the same pict 3 x w/o moving the camera too much.
So I decided to use one shot, changed the exposure in Photoshop and then combine them in an HDR picture

This is the final result

What do you guys think?

if you are using photomatix, it is very good at correcting and aligning pictures so don't always think a tripod is necessary

I feel like there is something missing in the center field... There are shadows from the clouds on the hill that goes down to the sea, but no shadows from clouds on the big, expansive feild. On such a cloudy day, wouldn't there be shadows?

Otherwise I think it's really well done - beautiful scenery, and I love how the HDR effect brings out the clouds!

Actually you can do that with any camera. Just take a single shot, change the exposure in Photoshop to -2, save the picture under different name, and repeat the process changing the exposures to -1, +1, and +2 each time.

Finally use any of the HDR software available and combine the pictures.

I use Dynamic Photo - HDR, but I belive the latest version of Photoshop also comes with an HDR feature.

Nice picture and good composition, but by changing the exposure values on a single shot and then processing, is known as a "pseudo HDR" image, not a true HDR picture.

I still like the pic though.....

Would it make any difference?

I have another set of pictures that I did change the exposure on camera when I took them. I am going to creat a real HDR and compare it with a "pseudo HDR" with a single shot to see if there is vissible differences.
