Hi guys, i'm a beginner in this whole photography world. I purchased a d60 last august for my birthday and have been taking photos non stop. Just wondering if you guys would be able to critique my work.. so that i know i am improving or not.

Sasmonroe, Welcome

For Critique, this is the right place. Adding some EXIF will give us some better idea about how your shot was made, and I've linked your second photo because in Critique:

Hiya, and welcome to DPS

I love the composition, it's great. It's not very sharp though, the people are a little blurry. And the red might be a little over saturated, one of them in particular looks very red in the face.

Default Efix data.

Hello guys thanks so much for the comments. And sorry for posting two pictures up in the beginning. My bad for not reading the instructions.

Here are the exif to the photo
Camera: D60
Exposure: 0.005 sec (1/200)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 18 mm
ISO Speed: 100
Exposure Bias: 5 EV

I am currently using my kitlens to take all of my photos as it is the only one i have. Would the faces of the people be more clearer if i was say to use a longer focal length with another lens? or could the focus photo above be further improved if i had played around with the aperture more? Your thoughts on this would be very much appreciated!!!

it does look a tad oversaturated. but, i must say, the composition of the photo is top-notch. something i would expect to see in a magazine or advertisement. great job there.
