Arrow Baby & Old Barn...

I was playing around with that Topaz filter and came up with this, my question is this: Is it to much? Did I tweak it to far? What do you think? I'm also curious about the photograph in general, the angle, etc - what do you think? Thank you

Camera: Nikon D80
Exposure: 0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture: f/4
Focal Length: 26 mm
ISO Speed: 250
Exposure Bias: 0/6 EV
Flash: Flash fired, auto mode

Composition wise, I think the subject isn't quite clear. The lines draw my eye away from the child. The child doesn't seem to be "engaged" in the photo. He's looking at his feet, no eye contact or "interest" (why's he looking at his feet? Is he really just napping?) For some reason his hand being inside his sleeve is slightly discerning to me.
Processing wise, it seems overdone. The colors a bit too saturated and for some reason it kind of looks like the child was added to the pic in Post.

I think this shot would have been better with the child left out of it. I like the angle & lines & I appreciate the topaz effect, I'm just not sure it's a fit for a child.

I am a fan of the processing...what bothers me is there are objects lined against the barn as far back as you can see and the baby falls right into line with those objects.

Hmm...
The processing makes it look like the child was pasted in afterwards?

After reading what everyone thought I see the exaggeration of the photo as well - It to me also appears as if my son was pasted in lol but he wasn't! Really! lol

Thank you everyone for your input on this photo

I like the pic! but personally this feels just slightly over processed... I feel like children benefit best from a little softer processing than this really hard, harsh, almost grungy process... but it sure does draw out all the details!

On the technical side, I would juuuuuuuuuuust give his little feet a little more room to breathe... To me the focal point of the photo is the child, then he is looking at his feet, so i look at his feet only to... (gasp)... a piece is missing!!! :-o ... ok so im obviously being a little over dramatic, (its really not all that bad) haha, but remember to look all over the frame to make sure you arent cutting anything important off!

Great job!

maybe put a bunny rabbit at his feet, (it might give the viewer something to ponder over as to what he is looking at-even tho i figured he was looking at hi feet)I am not a big fan of the "soft" look for most childrens portarits so i do like what you have done here (even if it is a tad bit over the top)
I like the lines as to me, they lead you away from him but then bring you right back. Just my humble opinion.
but do think a closer crop might be in order, except where his lil foot got wacked off.
