Default Making a photo look old

I saw this classic Dr. Pepper bottle and loved it... unfortunately the picture was kinda boring by itself. I made a B+W layer, and a sepia layer. Turned the opacity down to 60% or so... and added some grungy stuff.

First question is: does it look old?
Second: I feel like the "grunging" could use some work, is there too much repitition with the lines in it?

Thanks for the help everyone.

Hi eternal - interesting composition and thought processes going on there. I love the idea but when I looked at the full size image I don't think those vertical streaks are doing the image any favours. In fact (and it may be my screen) the closer I got to them then the more 'blue' they became and less in keeping with the rest of the image - Please don't get me wrong - I love the image and the idea, but when it comes to ageing it, those streaks look 'false' - did you think of retaining the sepia but giving the image a more 'grainy' feel?

I welcome the critique, so thank you. And you need not worry about hurting feelings. How do you add the "grainy" to it?

Thanks

Unfortunately I use an action I found somewhere to get a grainy look to it and have no idea how it does its thing. However I'll look around now to see if there are other ways of doing it. I would think it's fairly straightforward. If you don't mind me asking - what post processing software are you using?

I use all the freeware I can find

Its FastStone Image Viewer for the RAW file editing, then The GIMP for the fun stuff.

Sorry Laurie, I tried to add some other effects to it. Instead of cluttering the server I decided not to repost. However, here is the amended photo:
