I'm dittoing (word?) on the redirected light help! If you could find time, that is such a cool effect! I would love to play around with that.

i'm not the best at explainations.....i'll end up beating all around the bush before i get there....

okay, say i wanted to add some warmth and light to her head.....on a separate, new layer....one without the image on it, i will paint in a little orange over an area on her head....i'll then apply a gaussian blur of a large amount to diffuse it.....say around 20 pixels.......i'll then erase the color from any area that i don't want it to color.....the blur makes it spread.....then i'll set the blending mode to something appropriate.....screen if i really want that area lighter......or mulitply if it's already a too light area.....color if i want a rich, consistent color over both the light and dark areas....there's also overlay and soft light, both of which i'm not realy sure what they consistently do, but, i think you get the idea.....

often my color layers will pile on top of each other......and since they're all separate, i can tweak them as my eye deems necessary after each application....

anyway, i am a wordy woman.....

if i haven't explained it well enough, please feel free to ask me again.....
