Default Rail Yard

Does the composition work with the switch in the foreground?

How bout the split tone that was added to give the fog more atmosphere.

I think the switch is a distraction from an otherwise great photo.

I agree.

The switch detracts.

I love the atmosphere and the lines leading to the triangular arrangement of the train cars.

The color is pretty cool also.

I might have liked the switch if it had not blocked part of the train car and was in focus ... but as it is the photo is better without ...

Without the switch it appears that there is no foreground. I still think this shot would have been better if you were standing on the tracks and let the tracks lead the eye into the photo.

I have attached 2 other photos from the series I took at the rail yard.

In one the foreground is dominated by the switch and in the other the tracks lead you to the trains as suggested.

Thanks for all of your comments.
