Default Hors3s hdr - first try / first post

Hi everyone at dps. Though I've been subscribed for a while to the newsletter, and I really enjoy reading the tips, this is my first post here. And I decided to request for a critique of this shot. Actually it's my second attempt to hdr (the first one went directly to the trash bin). I really like the colours in this one.

Well, I thank you all in advance. (and sorry for my tarzan-like english).

Lucas.-

Wow. I don't do alot with HDR so I can't give a great critique, but I CAN say it's a very cool shot. The compostion has a repetitive pattern that is striking, and the color of the first horse balances the lack of color in the other two quite nicely

Hi shutteraddict, thanks for your critique. I think it's very important to get some honest feedback when you start to show your work. Though the repetitive pattern is what I was looking for, I was not aware of the balance between the color of the horses. Now I will be more actively looing for balance in colors (or lack of it) as a way to add interest.

Saludos, Lucas.-

I'm not a large fan of HDR, but to my eye it looks like you did a good job of it.

My personal prefrence would to have a bit shallower DOF to bring out the horses more (if your intent was to highlight the horses).

Hi Hill Country Hack, I think I would like to have the background a little bit more out of focus too, in order to get the three horses more isolated. Your comment about de DOF is right, a bit shallower would have been nice. Thank you.

Saludos, Lucas.-
