You can give me feeback basically on any aspect of this photo. I was trying to achieve several things. First, a photo pleasing to the eye, second, a sense of scale and grandeur, hence I included the people on the mountain. I also wanted to draw peopleinto the photo. So the trail cutting across the photo I thought would try and help do that.
did I pull it off? or what are ya'lls thoughts? thanks this was taken with a Nikon d5100 with a nikkor 50-300 MM lens. It was a bracketted shot processed in photomatix, so Im sure its kinda noisy. any feedback would be greatly appreciated. thanks Last edited by skiserge1; 11-10-2011 at 03:55 AM. |

To me the noise is a bit to much.
Have you tried noise reduction when post processing. Compositionally - even though it is a spectacular scene it lacks depth and I feel rather "detached". Maybe having something in the foreground would help.

I'm not too concerned with the noise in this photo because I think it's up to the artist to decide whether or not noise is a problem or not.
I do like this pic. My eye is immediately drawn to the center of the picture, but it's balanced by the colors of the top and bottom. The people in this pic are minuscule to the whole picture. They almost disappear when looking at this. Personally, I'd probably leave this alone. |

I like this quite a bit, The composition and colors work for me, though I might like just a bit more separation between the tent and the landscape. (Taste issue only.)
I don't see enough noise at this size for it to be an issue for me. Printed large, who knows? I know that I'd be very happy if I had captured this scene.

Thats a great work. A little noisy, but it does'nt kill the pic. The only thing I think would make it better is if you could somehow make the subjects in the foreground pop a little more and enhance them as the main focal point. That's gonna be difficult though because they are so distant. Nonetheless, well done!
