New to digital imagery/post processing, I captured the image below in the backyard and, having read a recent thread on applying textures via PP, thought it would be a great opportunity to give it a shot- what I found is that it's a lot of fun to learn but easy to overdo things!
I am interested in thoughts on both the PP application and the overall composition of the native shot. Many thanks! I like the composition, and I like the way the texture looks on the background, but on the flower it's self the texture muddles the yellows and causes entire image to look blurry...
Can you take the eraser tool to just the texture over the flower, leaving it a bright, popping yellow again? Otherwise, very nice

Thanks Liz for the feedback. I took the suggestion and reworked the texture - looked a lot better but my use of the eraser tool needs some practice as the edges looked odd.
I will keep at it and thanks for the guidance. Kevin |
