This image was taken at a recent airshow in Colorado. I would like feedback of the composition and the HDR processing.

Here is my take on it:
Composition =========== I see what you are trying to do with the shot. I love how the details of engine are still preserved yet the smoothness of the propeller blades bring a contrast to the image. It is composed perfectly however, part of the engine is been cropped [left hand side of the image]. Colors ============ The details of the engine are brought out by the work you did. Very good job. However, there is too much darkness on the right hand side of the image. I believe you were trying to compensate for the loss of detail in the sky [ overexposed highlights ]. I would increase the vibrance of the yellow color and add a tint of orange to it. The metal color is perfect and the chrome shines nicely. Creativity ========== This is a very creative shot. You have captured the perfection of form with function of this airplane. With some minor tweaks you can enhance this image even further. Tips ====== On the side, I would correct the over blown highlights of the sky. If you did HDR, take the underexposed shot and mask it so the sky blends into the shot. Remove the overally dark vignette that covers most of the right hand side of the picture. Good Job! Keep up the great work. |
