It was a hazy morning when I took 5 images for this HDR. This is my first serious attempt at HDR. I don't like the over processed look and I pretty happy with this image. I have two areas of concerns, the sky and the color balance. Do you think the saturation level is too much one way or the other.
![]() I'm sorry but the EXIF information was lost during PP. But I think it was somewhere around... ISO 800 F8 1/1000 s 5 shots ranging from -1.3 to +1.3. Thanks, Jerome

I'm not HDR expert, but HDR is supposed to eliminate blown out skies. I think you needed a wider range of exposures, at least -2,0 & +2, maybe more.
I love the colors in the rest of the shot, though. They might be a tad underexposed because of the bright sky.

This is a very nicely done HDR picture !
However, the main idea of HDR is to capture low to high detail, which in this case, the high detail, "sky" is still over exposed. Another major thing is that background, mountains and sky, are a totally different color than the foreground. Was WB set to auto? You should blend the sky into the foreground using masks and opacity levels. Other than that it is an amazing picture. For a real good HDR range try +-1 and take 3 set of pictures, one at -1, 0, +1. This will give you 9 pictures but 3 will be duplicates for an end result of 6. It will cover the broad spectrum of EV and give you more flexibility in post. Good luck and keep up the good work! |

Looks good. A good HDR shouldn't look like an HDR, it should look like reality, which this does. Thanks for not overdoing it.
