Default Sharon

This is my first attempt to get processed image.
Please let me some mistake or something wrong on this photo ?

Nikon D7000
Nikkor VR 18-200mm
200mm, F/5.6, 1/800s, ISO125

That one green leaf sticking out just doesn't do it for me. Either the flower alone in color, or add some more green around it.

Personally, I'd get rid of the green leaf, leave it black/white and just have the flower in full color.

I've been taking a lot of similar pictures of summer flowers in my garden recently but without the B/W effect. I think a slightly deeper depth of field would be more enticing to the eye, so that you've got crisper focus into the middle of the flower as well as on the outer petals.
Also, rather than a grey background, I think it'd be more striking if it was just darkened out. Then the green leaf would work better as well?

LOL! I worked with one of my brothers when I was a kid. He owned a landscaping business. I picked up on some things.
