Default Driftwood in detail

I used the HDR tone mapping in PS CS5 for this single image. Personally I'm sort of happy with it, but a little unsure of the colour toning. Any opinions/advice on that or anything else gratefully appreciated.

I'm no expert and this has nothing to do with the HDR thing, but I would get the horizon straight and cut down a little bit of haze on the top half of the photo...good composition !

The horizon is straight - the distantshore on the left is much closer than the distant shore on the right. Thanks for your comment

I'd still straighten it as it does look off.
There is an add color to it, could be my monitor but it seems to have almost a magenta tome to it.
Perhaps blur the background a bit more so the focus is brought back to the driftwood.

Okay, thanks Windrider - that's two so maybe I should have a re-look at it.

I like the picture, but for some reason, my eyes just wander away from the driftwood and focus on the horizon-- I can't get them to stay put.

Most HDR shots look oversaturated, but yours almost looks a little desaturated. The sky colors look a little odd to me, but I don't know enough about tonemapping to tell you why. The whole image looks a little too light to me. Have you tried a Levels adjustment?

I did try but couldn't do much with the sky. Maybe I should have tried a light graduated filter. I'll have another play when I get a chance.

Tito - I cloned out the beach girls on the distant shore just for that reason

I have tried to improve on this, but no go and scrubbed it. Never mind!
