Default Freedom

I took this photo while I was in DC this Spring. The original was taken in RAW and edited and converted to B&W using lightroom and CS5. I like this photo and think it has potential but the B&W doesn't seem quite right. I appreciate any and all critiques!

In my view, I'd like to have more contrast in B&W conversions. Here, whites are so predominant especially at the lower half of the monument. Try a bit more of contrast.
