Default I will get this if it kills me....

Another HDR attempt. I did two of them, my daughter preferred this one, so here it is. This was the view from my deck this afternoon.

HDR from my deck

Don't be shy now. Critique away..lol Seriously, it's the only way I will learn and improve.

Not quite sure what I'm missing. If it's all the settings, sorry, I have no idea what they were. It was another attempt at 3 bracket HDR, using Photomatix, and then tweaked in Lightroom. If I'm still missing something, could someone please point me in the right direction and I would be more than happy to oblige.

asking something specific. Tell us more about this. What is that you like about it? What is it that you dont like?
For me its overcooked and you have no real focal point. The colors are unnatural, unless thats what you were going for?
When shooting a landscape or any other subject for that matter, you must decide what you want to focus on.
Keep trying tho, practice makes perfect!

I agree that the trees and blueish water really look overprocessed. You could have posted your Photomatix settings and someone who really knows that program might be able to recommend better settings.

I don't really know what the subject of your shot is either. Where did you want to direct the viewer's eye?

I like where you are going, but it looks a bit over done. If these are the colors that you want to keep I would suggest bringing a tiny bit of the yellow somewhere into the top half of the photo because now the eye is being drawn to the bottom and not moving the eye through the photo.
