Default Another attempt at 3 bracket HDR...

I gave up on the bird pic. I couldn't seem to get it clear enough without having to go over board on the sharpening, so here is the next attempt. Not too sure about the brightness, but I think it's better than the other one.

It stands alone...

Having looked at the bird pic & this one I'm going to make two guesses.

1)Your ISO is set too high
2)you're trying to do an HDR image using Exposure Merge in Photoshop

If I'm right about the second one, it's tough to get a good result from the exposure merge without the right photo and a lot of adjustments. Try a demo of an HDR software like Photomatix or Nik HDR efex and see how that works on the same photos.

I do like the starkness of the background, just couldn't get it quite right. Strange you should mention Photomatix, I just got a copy of it yesterday. This is the result of a quick play as I didn't have a lot of time. Slightly different angle, but basically the same.
