Default Is it a touch much???...

Have just had my first play with 3 bracket HDR. Nothing flash, just a couple I managed to get while I was stalking a couple of birds the other day. Haven't had the chance to go out and scout a good subject.

What do you think? What can be improved for next time???

I know nothing of HDR, but you've done good to try it out although it's a bit hard on my eyes. That tui looks like it's scoping you out!

Even at a small size, it appears over sharpened - I can make out artifacts in the background. It also makes the foliage and tree bark too light and distracting, making the bird less prominent.

The shadows need some attention - you have lost all the detail in the black feathers on my screen.

I think if you ran it through the HDR program again and boosted the midtones you might find a better balance between the shadows and highlights.

Thank you for that. I will go through it again and see what I can do. The black feathers don't actually show up on the originals either. Little devils wouldn't stay still so I had to get what I could get.

I'll be back.
