Default My Computer Desk

I thought I'd try to simplify things and rather than doing a landscape style HDR I'd just try and capture my computer desk (after cleaning it up a bit ;p) and working from there.

How's the HDR on this? Does it work? Do you like the reflection of the guitar in the monitor screen? Anything else you can think of?

The only thing that bugs me is the little bit of my curtain that got in the reflection towards the left side of the monitor.

Hrumph! Who has a tidy desk? Ha! Ha!

I like the shot and the HDR work except for the much lighter edging around the monitor and desk - it's bit too obvious to me.

Haha someone who spent a good amount of time preparing for a photoshoot

I had a feeling that would be the main critique of this shot

Well it's not the main critique yet, just my 2 cents (and that's an amateur's 2 cents).

Well thank you for taking the time to share your 2 cents - I felt the same way about the glow, but then I kind of rolled with it because I couldn't get the look I wanted without the glow. It might be possible, but I'm just not a photoshop guru by any means

Yes, this looks too fake - nobody's desk is that clean! Especially mine! Is that blue thing the curtain? Yes, it is a bit distracting. I know the halos have been mentioned already. The guitar in the monitor is kind of cool, but if it is supposed to tell a story with the desk, I don't get the connection.

I see what you mean about the computer and the guitar not really having a solid connection unless you know the person - hence why my friends and family probably seem to get more out of the shot.

And yah maybe the next time I shoot this scene I wont clean up and we can see how my desk REALLY looks

Thanks for the critique!
