Default das Tier aus Deutschland

Took a series of 3 bracketed photos and merged them into an HDR photo using Paint Shop Pro Photo X2. Probly not the best software for HDR. Either way, not sure if HDR was really necessary for this particular photo. But I dont believe I could have achieved this photo without more than one exposure, and isnt that why we use HDR?

I know the left side near the front of the car has major blown highlights. Thats my fault for not choosing to go darker with my exposures. I fixed the blown highlights on the right where the foliage is, I simply cloned that in from a darker exposure.

Is my composition decent? I didnt think about the shot before I set it up. How is the color? I tried to make it look as natural as possible, I dont want this to look like an obvious over done HDR just for the sake of being...an HDR image. The foliage in the back ground looks terrible.

Tell me what you would have done differently.

I no nothing about HDR, but since you mentioned it, why don't you clone some of the decent foliage to the left blown area?

Just a thought.

I'm not a big fan of really over-done HDR, so I like that this is tastefully done. As far as composition goes, the background isn't doing much for me.

Assuming that you were free to move the car around, I'm not sure if it would make more sense to minimize the sense that the car's in a parking garage (maybe by parking by the edge and including more greenery) or by making the garage a bigger part of the setting (set up some of those columns in a line behind the car -- maybe feature one of the numbered columns?). Of course, if you couldn't move the car, then your options are a lot more limited.

The car's got a nice, deep metallic feel to the paint, and lots of detail in the wheels, tires, exhaust, etc. -- IMO, that's the stuff I love to see in HDR photos. Nice shot.

I really liked you HDR. It looks natural and it enhances the picture. The background is not adding much to your shot. I'd try cropping it a little tighter. Just a thought from a beginner. Great shot!
