Just off hand, I'd say the subject (the African violet) is poorly focused. It looks like your lens decided to focus on the leaf in front of it instead.

Lens:AF-S DX VR zoom-Nkkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 (Standard Lens that came with the Camera)
Photo ISO: 12800 ( I learn since I took the pick that 100 is normal)
Focal Length: 55mm
Aperture f/5.6
Shutter Speed 1/400

Thanks for the critique. What could I done to focus more on the violet?
