Default Cloudy Moon

I wanted to get a shot of the Super Moon the other night, but I didn't just want another zoomed in shot of the moon like I could take any other night. So I decided to try something new. I took a long exposure picture of the moon so I could get the clouds in the sky, and then I took a regular zoomed in shot of the moon. I combined the two images in GIMP and this is what I have. Does the picture look like the moon was there originally?

No. The moon is outside of our atmosphere so it is really quite abnormal to see clouds behind the moon. Even a super one.

I think you should try softening the edges around the moon to make it blend in with it's surroundings. This way the moon doesn't seem to pop out as much as it should. It might give it a more natural look although Papa Rotzzi does make some sense when he says it does look a lil abnormal for the clouds to be behind the moon. Also try adding the same layer of the clouds over the moon and lower the opacity to giv it a lil more natural look...But then again this is Photography...let your imagination run wild!!

Give it a try and repost if you like the outcome....

I like the result but it is in no way natural looking. Looks like a photo of an eclipse.

Thanks for the input everyone!

Joe, If I get a chance sometime tomorrow, I will try what you suggested and see how it turns out.
